🚁 What if drones were a game-changer in the fight against plastic pollution? Goal 1Using technology developed by Gerard Dooly and his team (University of Limerick), we are currently testing an on-board artificial intelligence system capable of automatically detecting plastic waste washed up on beaches.This technology is developed within the framework of the #BluePoint #INTERREG Atlantic area program in which the I Clean My Sea project participated. 🎯 Our first objective is to carry out drone detection campaigns to provide the necessary material for researchers at the University of Limerick to refine the automatic detection of stranded plastics.If this technology keeps its promises, it will be a revolution for beach cleaning: we are adding to awareness a real mass decontamination!!!
